Beer Sausage,------- Grilled Sauerkraut Brats,------- Vegetable Kielbasa Bake

Beer Sausage

INGREDIENTS

·        1 pound sliced bacon, coarsely chopped

·        2 large onions, sliced

·        3 cans (12 ounces each) beer

·        2 packages Brats

·        1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

·        1 large (12-inch x 9-inch) heavy-duty disposable foil pan

DIRECTIONS

1.      Preheat grill to medium-low.

2.      Place a large heavy-duty disposable foil pan on the grill; add bacon.

3.      Cook bacon until crisp, stirring often.

4.      Add onions; cook and stir until golden brown.

5.      Add beer and bring to a gentle simmer.

6.      Add the brats and cover pan with foil. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into a brat reads 160°F.

7.      Remove brats from the pan. Grill links until browned; return to pan.

8.      Stir in butter.

9.      Cover pan and keep warm.

 


GRILLED SAUERKRAUT BRATS

INGREDIENTS

·        1 carton (32 ounces) chicken broth

·        2 cans (14 ounces) sauerkraut, rinsed and drained

·        2 large onions, sliced

·        1 lemon with peel, sliced

·        2 packages Brats

·        1 large (12-inch x 9-inch) heavy-duty disposable foil pan

DIRECTIONS

1.     Preheat grill to medium-low.

2.     In a large heavy-duty disposable foil pan, combine the broth, sauerkraut, onions and lemon.

3.     Place pan on the grill. Bring to a gentle simmer.

4.     Add the brats and cover pan with foil. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into a brat reads 160°F.

5.     Remove brats from the pan. Grill links until browned; return to pan.

6.     Cover pan and keep warm.

 

Vegetable kielbasa bake

INGREDIENTS

·        2 medium zucchini, cut into chunks

·        1 yellow summer squash, cut into chunks

·        1 small onion, coarsely chopped

·        2 carrots, peeled and sliced

·        1 small sweet red bell pepper, coarsely chopped

·        1 tablespoon olive oil

·        1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

·        1 package  Italian or Cheese Brats, cut in 1/2-inch pieces

DIRECTIONS

 

1.      In a bowl, lightly toss vegetables with olive oil and black pepper.

2.      Spoon into a greased, shallow 3-qt. baking dish.

3.      Arrange sausage pieces over vegetables.

4.      Bake, covered, at 400 degrees F. for 20 minutes.
